Founder of Very Local Trip

Maxime started my career in France in the Pharma/Biotech industry. He is also a young veteran of the South-East Asian malaria prevention scene, and he is still involved with several international Public and Private organisations in the global malaria community.

Passionate about travelling and multi-cultural exchanges, Maxime is the Founder of Very Local Trip and currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

After 6 years in Asia, Maxime is pushing ahead with his travel start-up, based on the realisation that many travellers want to feel like a local rather than a tourist when visiting a destination.
Well connected, Maxime is also steering committee member of ‘La French Tech Thailand’ and co-founder of the ‘Sustainable BET’ (Sustainable Business Entrepreneurs Thailand).

Very Local Trip is a travel social enterprise, connecting travelers seeking local experiences and locals/local communities looking to make extra income by providing their own customized trips in South-East Asia (currently, Thailand and Vietnam are available).

Very Local Trip’s site currently offers two different types of experiences – urban experiences with a local friend, and community-based tourism & getaway trips.

The company creates opportunities for local communities and businesses to better promote their livelihoods through tourism.

Very Local Trip integrates the sharing economy into community based tourism as a new form of tourism that takes environmental, social and cultural sustainability into account.
